With every new experience in life comes time to reflect upon it. The process I went through the beginning to the end of this trip was a cycle of interpretation, meditation and then reflection. My images represent the internal reflections I have had because of this experience in Mexico.
In the photograph of the reflection of myself, I have interpreted the paintings I saw in the carving village, Arrazola. I have taken my own interpretation and how the symbols represent me. The image of the interpretation of a rug uses the symbol the Eye of God. The ultimate goal of a human is to reach complete balance in every aspect of life. These symbols are reflections of my trip to Mexico and how I interpreted their culture in my life.

Teotitlán del Valle
Each of these images was taken in the town of Teotitlán, just outside of the city of Oaxaca. I have chosen to display these images because of the memories I have accompanied with this town, but to also express how interesting the process of weaving is. The time and resourcefulness these people have given to create beautiful works of art. Visiting the town to Teotitlán was inspiring to. The people were kind and excited to talk to us and show us their trade.
I want to show everyone a window into the town of Teotitlán, give a taste of what it is like to be a part of the culture in Meixco.
